At felustaður we wanted to take a minimalist approach to rejuvenation.
In our 280 square foot summerhouse and 5 acres of mixed and coniferous forest, we believe you will have everything needed to slow down and reconnect to what matters most.

Whether you are seeking a space to recharge through solitude or a space of reconnection with another, our hope is that felustaður be your safe place to reflect, renew and rest.

Plan your Visit
As a guest at our eco retreat, you can join us for one night or a full week (or longer if you wish). You decide whether you need a solo reconnection with self or intentional time with another person or pet.
Your stay includes the use of our 280 square foot summerhouse and access to the forest that felustaður is nestled within.
You are invited to rest and rejuvenate through use of our hydrotherapy circuits, communal garden and nearby walking trails.
On the weekends, enjoy an in-house breakfast made from local ingredients and seasonal produce (vegan options available).

With the growing need for pet inclusive spaces, we knew we wanted to create a place where your pet is free to rest with you.

Sauna
Coming Fall 2023
The outdoor Sauna experience is a quintessential part of Icelandic culture and thus an important part of what we offer here as felustaður.
Due to the increase risk of forest fires in the summer months, we are excited to offer private sauna booking with your stay come fall 2023.
In 2020, rather than moving back to Iceland, we bought our farm.
As a first responder and a mental health practitioner with a young family, we were looking for solace from burn out—somewhere we could rest and mend.
Our home became our ‘hideaway’ from the noise around us.
It wasn’t long before we realized that our little farm was more than just our home, it could be a place of healing for others too.
As settlers on the unceded territory of the Stó:lō people, we own the weight of contributing to the narrative of inclusion, and want to be part of the legacy of healing.
We watched as our farm became a place of rest and reparation for our friends who were seeking escape from the pressures of work, the fears of the pandemic and internal stressors.
We believe that participation with the natural world through unplugging, slowing down and hydrotherapy can reconnect you with self and the things we often get too busy to notice.
As a family and as a business we have a responsibility to protect and care for the natural environment and all its living things. It is with that ethic that we gratefully operate felustaður within.
